I knew I was going to like Juxtaposition before I even walked in the store. All it took was a look at the sign out front.
I didn’t know how much I was going to like it though. When I walked inside, I gasped.
Everything in this shop is stunning. It’s bizarre. Somehow, with the way everything is combined, even old metal stools and a thrashed metal tray trolley look inviting.
And to think, if I found this on the street I would have taken them home and spray painted them!
The furniture is custom and most of the sofas are slipcovered in this dense rich linen or cotton duck fabric.
And this linen duvet? I can’t even describe how lovely it was. So much nicer to the touch than your normal cotton one. Such a difference in look – it radiates casual elegance.
Black four poster bed with blue pillows and white linens (in linen no less). Does it get better than this?
I really wish this photo did justice to the butterflies framed on the wall. Their colors were so delicate and intense. While I find having dead bugs on the wall a tad creepy – there’s still something ethereal about the collection.
This Union Jack slipcovered bench was one of my favorite pieces in the store.
I also loved the shiny metal drawers with leather pull handles.
Their prices are fitting for their location – the exclusive Crystal Cove area of Newport Beach. They ship worldwide and you can find some of their items on 1stdibs (just do a search for Juxtaposition Home).
