This is the second half of a double feature. Yesterday we saw Michele Varian’s store and today we see her home. Michele and her musician husband Brad Roberts of the band “Crash Test Dummies”, live in a real downtown SOHO Loft. I have seen various lofts, but this one is my favorite. I want to know where she is getting that wall paper? I can’t believe that I am saying this, but “I love that wallpaper”… I could study this photo for hours.
This view shows even more pattern work. What really jives design wise here is the eclectic mix of personal items. Power in numbers, hanging framed images in groups always makes a bold statement.

Michele and I both met our husbands in a similar way. She was courted by Brad under the pretense of a much needed interior decorator and I was hired by mine as a Feng Shui professional… humm, isn’t that interesting Michele?!

Where there is a musician, there are musical instruments; here are a few that this dynamic duo share their loft with…

Living Room View

I love that this home looks lived in and personalized and with that said, it thrives on Bohemian Vogue. It’s not easy to accomplish these traits with such high ceilings but Michele has mastered this style.

This loft just goes on and on…

View From The Kitchen Looking Out

This photo is titled “Fly Catchers”, which refers to the glass objects seen hanging from the ceiling. I am pretty sure that there are not enough flies in Manhattan for all of those catchers.

Bed Extraordinaire

I would not normally feature a tight bathroom shot that focuses on the bowl, but this one looks so comfy! Notice all the groupings on the shelves, again it’s the perfect way to give substance to the small stuff.

* Michele Varian the store and the person have been featured in many significant publications, most recently The Telegraph Magazine in the UK (the British version of the NY Times Magazine).
