Hi Tammy,

About 6 years ago Beitilli had slipcovered denim sofas in their Ramat Gan showroom. We were going to buy them, but they weren't as dark as I wanted, we hesitated, and then they were gone. I haven't seen anything that interesting since.

What you <i>could</i> do is go to Florentine, have a regular sofa made at the exact specifications of an IKEA sofa (but it will be made better) and then buy the IKEA slipcovers. I can recommend the place we got our sofas if you are looking for inexpensive and well (enough) made.

Thanks Shira. I was hoping to find something reasonable, at Beitili kind of prices, so those might not be relevant.
I'll keep looking!

There are a few places you can find well made slipcovered sofas - but expect to pay a premium. I've found them in Unique in Florentine, Hederim in Florentine (store review - http://www.tchochkes.com/wordpress/hederim-store-review.html), and Penthouse Furniture in Ga'ash(http://www.tchochkes.com/wordpress/penthouse-furniture-store-review.html).

I agree, those legs are pretty terrible and rob the chairs of any grace. But I've got to thank you for giving the link to Trost's store in Ramat Hasharon....they seem to have some very cool, colorful stuff. I would even order some of those chairs, if only they could change the legs.

On a separate note, can anyone please please tell me where one can buy slipcovered couches here in Israel, besides IKEA? (I don't find IKEA couches comfortable and they're too small). I would love slipcovered pieces in an elegant shabby chic kind of style, or any style actually, as long as it comes off and can be washed!

they sort of remind me of those substantial traditionally tufted sofas with delicately turned wooden legs ending in ridiculously tiny brass casters... i'm sure there's a name for that style but it escapes me. i always thought they looked unbalanced and, well, funny. so do these chairs.
