A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I came to the consensus that gray and yellow pillows would be perfect for our badass new sofa. I know normally we don’t really let them participate in this kind of important decision making, but he’s a graphic designer and great with color, so I might as well get an opinion, right? He does sit there. Frankly I thought he would hate it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
As I carried on my search, which has been narrowed down to a handful of combo choices, I started seeing a lot more yellow and gray textiles and accessories. Here is just a handful of favorites…
Love the cool and serene vibe of the Ashley Citron bedding collection from Blissliving home (also home of a pillow contender or two). The mod mum print is great, and the overall look has just the right amount of yellow.
I’m not usually a fan of all-the-way matchy-matchy, but the shower curtain is equally fun and refined. This would work well in a proper master suite.
CB2’s gray herringbone pillow has a subtle cheery yellow trim, and would pair well with a smaller yellow-print pillow, or with the equally brilliant matching throw.
Angela Adams’ Birch rug in Morning is a woodland variation on the yellow and gray theme. I think it would look great as a runner in a long hallway, or even up the stairs.
Most likely the one, or at least one of them, is the Unison Static pillow from Design Public.
I totally love this frenzied pattern from Dwell Studio! The table runner is a funky mosaic of yellow, gray and black triangles, making a centerpiece for the table unnecessary. Just add a few simple, nondescript candles to the mix and you’re set.
This handmade Lutz & Patmos throw from West Elm combines cable-knit and honeycomb designs to create a warm, luxe accent for sofa or bed. Hello fall!
