Color by color: White
Eggshell white…
The best way to appreciate white is by placing it next to other colors. Technically, white is not a color but a pigment. It is by far one of the most important pigments rivaled only by the pigment black. Black and white can be super chic if used in a sophisticated way as in this photo below.
Pure and clean, white is a blank canvas for designers to create from. Historically, white goes way back to some of the first cultures. Horn white was made from crushed horn, Pearl white comes from oyster shell powder and eggshell white is simply powdered eggshell. All of these pigments were used firstly in their natural form.
White exteriors are always impressive. White allows us to appreciate the original details on this facade, contrasting doors and windows also make these details pop.
A white kitchen always looks clean but in reality it is always in need of a cleaning. I do not recommend painting a kitchen all white. The floor is one area to consider doing in a different color, unless you like bending down to clean it!
This room is a nice alternative to stark white. I especially like the ethnic details on the sideboard along with the wood floor and patterned rug which work to liven up the space. I can see adding a color on the archway over the door, maybe a beige of some sort would work…
There is so much white in this photo that is hard to focus on. Too much white can be disturbing. This room needs a designers touch.

I really love white. Signifies our total personality. I can live to the environment full of whites. From house colors, furnitures, clothings and other stuffs. So true that white allows us to appreciate the original details of an object. Still keep on white!
