Ceramic art: Yael Novak
Decorative Arts
Local artist Yael Novak’s whimsical work is positively devine. Her ceramic sculptures are an artistic expression that are simple and sophisticated. Her work is of exhibition quality and can be found at ceramic co-ops in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

You can dress it up but you can’t take it home. I’m sorry, but the choice of crockery in Israel ranges from boring to only slightly less boring. With every store carrying the usual white, beige, orange and indigo blue or with a smattering of squiggly lines, I despaired of ever finding something cheerful and interesting. So I shlepped my dishes back from Montreal and have never regretted the backache. Replacing them will be a nightmare, but I am still in the afterglow of the purchase, so leave me be, lol.

Wow - I couldn’t disagree with you more. There are so many incredible ceramic artists in this country - you just have to know where to look.
With that said, I’d love it if you would send me a pic of the set you brought with you.

So tell me where to look! Please.
And I really want to go down to Neve Tzedek to buy some stuff. How long does it take to drive from Zichron Yaakov?
Where can I park?
Last time I went by train. Couldn’t shlap the fragile chandelier I fell in love with (made from seashells and crystals)home on a rush-hour train. And the store wouldn’t deliver at any price - what do you think about the appalling standards of customer service in Israel?

I really love this pottery. How much does she charge, and where does she sell?
